Ingredients:

On top / 1:

  • 1 egg, size “M”
  • 1 tbsp water

On top / 2:

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cold water

Preparation:

  • Mix milk, yeast and honey and set aside for about 5 minutes or until yeast has proofed.
  • Measure flour into a bowl, add powdered sugar and crumble it with the butter or margarine.
  • Add the proofed yeast, the egg yolk and knead an elastic dough.
  • Cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise at room temperature for 60 mins.
  • Knead the dough on a working surface sprinkled with rice flour then divide it into 8 equal parts and shape them into buns.
  • Roll finger-thick rods from the buns, then roll them up one by one. The ends should be folded under the rolls.
  • Place shaped dough portions on a baking sheet then brush their top with the mixture of a lightly beaten egg and water.
  • Let them rest on room temperature for about 20 mins.
  • Bake them in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 20 minutes.
  • After removing from the oven, brush with the mixture of cold water and sugar immediately.
